The shearwall locations
shown are approximate and may be relocated along each mezzanine side as
needed. Shearwalls shall be constructed per attached Sketch B.
2. Mezzanine floor sheathing shall be nailed to rim-joist or blocking around the
perimeter with 8d nails (minimum) @ 6" o.c. and to interior 2x joists with 8d
nails (minimum) Od. 12" o.c. Verify existing nailing or provide new as needed.
3. Verify existing headers as shown on Sketch A. Headers shall be 2x8 or
(2)2x6. Construct new headers as needed per Sketch C.
4. Confirm floor beam at stair opening as shown on Sketch A.
5, A severely bowed 4X4 post supporting the mezzanine was observed in the
warehouse area (see Sketch A). I recommend replacing the post with a
straight one. Match existing connections at top and bottom.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions regarding this
issue.
Sincerely,
18; -
Ryan Ross, PE
Ross Engineering Design
Phone: (425) 314-2373
Email: ryan.ross@rossengirieer.coni
