• <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the property hereinafter described, be, and the same <br /> is hereby annexed to the City of Everett: <br /> LEGAL DESCRIPTION <br /> That portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 20 and the Southwest <br /> quarter of Section 17, Township 28 North, Range 5 East, W.M., <br /> described as follows: <br /> BEGINNING at the south quarter corner of said Section 17; thence west <br /> along the south line of said section to the east line of E 1/2 W 1/2 <br /> SW 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4; thence north 194 feet; thence west along south <br /> line to a point 30 feet west of the east line of the SW 1/4 SW 1/4; <br /> thence north along a line which is parallel to and 30 feet west of <br /> said east line to the north line of S 1/2 S 1/2 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 of said <br /> section; thence west along said north line to the west line of SE 1/4 <br /> SW 1/4 SW 1/4 of said subdivision; thence south along said west line <br /> to the south line of Section 17; thence west along said south line, <br /> being the north line of Section 20, to a point 528 feet east of the <br /> west line of NW 1/4 of said Section; thence south 165 feet; thence <br /> east parallel to said north line to the west line of NE 1/4 of NW <br /> 1/4; thence south to intersect the south line of the N 1/2 NE 1/4 NW <br /> 1/4 of said Section 20; thence east along said south line to <br /> intersect the north-south center section line of said section; thence <br /> north along said center section line to the S 1/4 corner of said <br /> Section 17, the POINT OF BEGINNING. <br /> Together with adjacent right-of-way not previously annexed. <br /> Section 2: That upon annexation of the property described in <br /> Section 1, said property shall become a part of the City of Everett, and <br /> shall be subject to all of its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in <br /> force. Upon annexation of the above-described property, all of said <br /> property shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate on the same basis as <br /> other property located within the City is assessed and taxed, to pay for any <br /> then outstanding indebtedness of the City contracted prior to or existing at <br /> the date of this annexation. In addition, the annexed area will remain <br /> responsible unto any other lawfully formed municipal corporation to which <br /> the property is obligated at the time of annexation subject to a specific <br /> lien. Further, the City may incur additional operating expenses in <br /> supplying water or sewage unto persons who are located within the annexed <br /> area. Accordingly, utility rates for the area for which annexation is <br /> petitioned may vary from those rates from other areas within the City. <br /> -2- <br />
