• NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That the property hereinafter described, be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Everett: LEGAL DESCRIPTION That portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 20 and the Southwest quarter of Section 17, Township 28 North, Range 5 East, W.M., described as follows: BEGINNING at the south quarter corner of said Section 17; thence west along the south line of said section to the east line of E 1/2 W 1/2 SW 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4; thence north 194 feet; thence west along south line to a point 30 feet west of the east line of the SW 1/4 SW 1/4; thence north along a line which is parallel to and 30 feet west of said east line to the north line of S 1/2 S 1/2 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 of said section; thence west along said north line to the west line of SE 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 of said subdivision; thence south along said west line to the south line of Section 17; thence west along said south line, being the north line of Section 20, to a point 528 feet east of the west line of NW 1/4 of said Section; thence south 165 feet; thence east parallel to said north line to the west line of NE 1/4 of NW 1/4; thence south to intersect the south line of the N 1/2 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 of said Section 20; thence east along said south line to intersect the north-south center section line of said section; thence north along said center section line to the S 1/4 corner of said Section 17, the POINT OF BEGINNING. Together with adjacent right-of-way not previously annexed. Section 2: That upon annexation of the property described in Section 1, said property shall become a part of the City of Everett, and shall be subject to all of its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force. Upon annexation of the above-described property, all of said property shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate on the same basis as other property located within the City is assessed and taxed, to pay for any then outstanding indebtedness of the City contracted prior to or existing at the date of this annexation. In addition, the annexed area will remain responsible unto any other lawfully formed municipal corporation to which the property is obligated at the time of annexation subject to a specific lien. Further, the City may incur additional operating expenses in supplying water or sewage unto persons who are located within the annexed area. Accordingly, utility rates for the area for which annexation is petitioned may vary from those rates from other areas within the City. -2-
