ORDINANCE NO. 1752-90 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1988 <br /> Edition of the Uniform Fire Code and the Uniform Fire Code <br /> Standards, and repealing Ordinance No. 1255-86. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: This Ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Fire Code." <br /> Section 2: There is hereby established in the City of Everett, the Fire <br /> Department which shall be under the jurisdiction of the Fire Chief, <br /> designated by the Mayor. <br /> Section 3: The Uniform Fire Code (hereinafter referred to as "UFC") , <br /> including Appendix Chapters II-E, III-A, III-B, III-C, V-A and VI-A, and the <br /> Uniform Fire Code Standards (hereinafter referred to as "UFCS") , published <br /> by the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of <br /> Building Officials, being particularly the 1988 Editions as amended by WAC <br /> 51-16-050 thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as <br /> are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference <br /> and incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length herein. <br /> Section 4: Amendments made in the Uniform Fire Code and the Uniform <br /> Fire Code Standards follow: <br /> A. Section 2303 of the 1988 Edition of the UFC is hereby amended by <br /> deleting: <br /> In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials <br /> and type of construction and to provide for reasonable <br /> interpretations of the provisions of this Code, there shall be <br /> and hereby is created a Board of Appeals consisting of five <br /> members who are qualified by experience and training to pass <br /> upon pertinent matters.
