ORDINANCE NO. 1752-90 AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1988 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code and the Uniform Fire Code Standards, and repealing Ordinance No. 1255-86. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: This Ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Fire Code." Section 2: There is hereby established in the City of Everett, the Fire Department which shall be under the jurisdiction of the Fire Chief, designated by the Mayor. Section 3: The Uniform Fire Code (hereinafter referred to as "UFC") , including Appendix Chapters II-E, III-A, III-B, III-C, V-A and VI-A, and the Uniform Fire Code Standards (hereinafter referred to as "UFCS") , published by the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of Building Officials, being particularly the 1988 Editions as amended by WAC 51-16-050 thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length herein. Section 4: Amendments made in the Uniform Fire Code and the Uniform Fire Code Standards follow: A. Section 2303 of the 1988 Edition of the UFC is hereby amended by deleting: In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and type of construction and to provide for reasonable interpretations of the provisions of this Code, there shall be and hereby is created a Board of Appeals consisting of five members who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon pertinent matters.
