EXHIBIT A-1 - SCOPE OF WORK <br /> '',, associated <br /> earth sciences <br /> ,,,,,,,j <br /> i n c o r p o r dt e d <br /> July 28, 2017 <br /> Project No. 170432E001 <br /> City of Everett <br /> 3200 Cedar Street <br /> Everett, Washington 98201 <br /> Attention: Mr. Richard Hefti <br /> Subject: Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services <br /> City of Everett <br /> UP No. 3664 Water Main Improvement "S" , <br /> Everett, Washington <br /> Introduction and Background <br /> It is our understanding that the City of Everett (City) plans to install new ductile iron water pipe <br /> and abandon in-place existing cast iron pipe within the City limits in south Everett along 35th <br /> Street between Federal Avenue and Lombard Avenue and along Rainier Avenue between 9th <br /> Street and 23rd Street. <br /> The Rainier Avenue project replaces approximately 3,800 lineal feet of existing 3-inch and 6- <br /> inch aging cast iron water mains with 1,900 feet of new 8-inch diameter ductile iron water <br /> main. The 35th Street project replaces about 3,200 feet of aging 12-inch cast iron pipe with new <br /> 12-inch ductile iron pipe. The work also includes removal or abandonment of valves, fire <br /> hydrants, water service lines (from mains to the shut off at the meter boxes), new water meter <br /> boxes and setters, related appurtenances and surface restoration. <br /> Scope of Services <br /> According to the Exhibit A-1, Geotechnical Engineering Scope of Work (SOW) document <br /> received by email July 11, 2017, the purpose of geotechnical services is to evaluate subsurface <br /> soil and ground water conditions as a basis for providing geotechnical engineering <br /> recommendations for design and construction of the water main replacement and future <br /> sanitary sewer main replacement.
