o Protect current resources for programs, courses, operations and <br /> administration offered at the University Center from state funding <br /> reductions; <br /> o Protect current resources from any attempts from other higher education <br /> institutions to shift funding from support of the University Center to home <br /> campuses; <br /> o Promote issues relevant to the expansion of higher education access in <br /> the City of Everett to include: <br /> • the expansion of all state-funded baccalaureate and advanced degree <br /> programs and facilities in the City of Everett <br /> • the consideration of expansion proposals from existing University <br /> Center partner institutions. <br /> • Conduct ongoing outreach program with legislators and state higher education <br /> officials in coordination with city officials. <br /> • As requested by city officials, participate in meetings on pending higher <br /> education legislative issues, University Center development and expansion, and <br /> community response. <br /> • As requested by city officials, provide research, data, analyses, testimony and <br /> comment regarding higher education initiatives of the City, legislative proposals <br /> and University Center development such as: <br /> • The development, scope, diversity and distribution of course offerings <br /> at the University Center. <br /> • The development, location and delivery of engineering programs <br /> directed in 2SSB 5636. <br /> • Issues relevant to the expansion of higher education access in the City <br /> of Everett. <br /> Reporting/supervision/administrative assistance: <br /> The Service Provider will report to City's Executive Director for Governmental Affairs <br /> with regular communication, updates and consultation as determined by that person. <br /> Public disclosure reporting duties: <br /> It will be Service Provider's responsibility to track his legislative hours, contacts, etc., in <br /> preparation for reports with State Public Disclosure Commission. <br /> Public disclosure compliance through reporting and transmission of state lobbying <br /> contacts by City employees —through L-5 forms and other mechanisms —will be <br /> responsibility of City. <br />
