2006 <br /> Budget Adjustments <br /> Tally Sheet <br /> Department Code Rev Exp FB <br /> NGA-27 Criminal Justice Amendment-Probation Office Relocation Project 156A 77,500 (77,500) <br /> This amendment is to fund the relocation of the Municipal Court Probation Office operations and staff <br /> to the Port Gardner Building, 2nd Floor, Suite 202 (Phase 1) and the relocation of the judge's chambers <br /> to the portable (Phase 2). <br /> The reason for moving the Probation Office and staff is to provide adequate facilities to: <br /> - house and administer increased probationary functions <br /> - improve the home detention program <br /> - house probation office personnel. <br /> The vacated portable building behind the Municipal Court will be utilized as the new judge's chambers. <br /> Space within the main building vacated by the judges, will be utilized by Municipal Court staff. <br /> The estimated budget for Phase 1 and 2 is $77,500. <br /> The bulk of relocation funds are required to provide city phone and network continuity to the Port <br /> Gardner Bldg. along with necessary security upgrades. <br /> The Probation program had an cash balance of$460,000 as of 11/07/06. <br /> Increase Other Miscellaneous Expense 156 5000500494 77,500 <br /> Decrease Ending Fund Balance-Probation Fund 156 5980500999 77,500 <br /> Department Code Rev Exp FB <br /> NGA-28 CHIP Fund Amendment-Housing Expenses 197A 40,000 40,000 <br /> The CHIP program has an expense account for costs related to CHIP projects which are not included in <br /> loans to property owners. Some examples of these expenses include temporary relocation costs for <br /> CHIP clients during construction and lead based paint assessments. The amount of these expenses is <br /> estimated each year as part of the City budget process. For 2006, the budgeted amount was $69,000. <br /> Actual 2006 expenses have already exceeded this amount. <br /> This Budget Amendment will add $40,000 to this expense account to cover costs for 2006.
