Kelsey Heyd
From: Brian Bodge <brianbodge@msn.com>
Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2016 3:16 PM
To: Kelsey Heyd
Subject: FW: Plan Check No.: 51606-002, 3015 Everett Ave
Hi Kelsey,
My LCB enforcement officer, Dee Johnson, spoke to Kaitlin Leeberg at the LCB today, and confirmed that there
is no limitation to signage that is "not affixed to the building". That is to say, there is no WSLCB limitation for
signage that is not part of the licensed premises for which I have no leasehold rights.
My lease is for the use of the building at 3015 Everett Ave, not the real property or land around it. The
proposed sign would be installed upon property for which I do not have leasehold rights, and therefore, is not
part of the licensed premises. With that in mind, the sign need only meet the City of Everett's sign
requirements.
If the City of Everett, or the WSLCB, needs additional explicit clarification to my lease in order to substantiate
that my lease satisfies the requirements (showing that my leasehold rights do not go beyond the old gas
station structure at 3015 Everett Ave), I would be happy to provide any such additional substantiation
required in order to move forward with the current proposed sign application.
Thank you
Brian Bodge, President
Globodyne Industries, Inc.
3015 Everett Ave
Everett, WA 98201
425-879-3437
From: dee.johnson@lcb.wa.gov
To: brianbodge@msn.com
Subject: RE: Plan Check No.: 51606-002, 3015 Everett Ave
Date: Th u, 14 J u 12016 15:51:40 +0000
Brian,
I just got off the phone with Kaitlin Leeberg, kaitlin.leeberg@lcb.wa.gov and she said there is a size limit to signs affixed
to the building, but cannot find any size requirements for additional signs that are not affixed to the building . I cannot
see why this proposed sign would be a problem. In fact I see them at other MJ locations, particularly strip malls where a
MJ store may be buried from direct sight from the street.
I can further direct you to Frank O'Dell frank.odell@lcb.wa.gov who is the Marijuana Supervisor in Olympia. He may
have additional insight.
