iiiii/Asoy/WIL <br /> ‘140a111 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2957-06 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the Zoning Map <br /> of the City of Everett for the Monroe Elementary School Annexation area <br /> east of 27th Avenue SE and north of 110th Street SE to be zoned <br /> to be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has been provided authority to annex unincorporated territory <br /> under RCW 35.13.125; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has followed the requisite steps to annex the Monroe Elementary <br /> School annexation area including City Council authorization to gather signatures on and <br /> receipt of a 75 percent petition, submittal to and approval of said petition by the City Council, <br /> certification of the petition by the Snohomish County Auditor's office and approval of the <br /> annexation request by the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that on November 7, 2006, the Planning Commission <br /> held a public hearing regarding establishment of the zoning designations for the herein <br /> described land area annexed to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, after the public hearing on November 7, 2006, the Planning Commission made <br /> the recommendation that the annexation area should be zoned R-1 Single Family Low Density <br /> Residential; <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL FINDS: <br /> 1. Planning Commission did hold a public hearing on November 7, 2006, at which time <br /> the Commission heard from the public and staff regarding the establishment of zone <br /> districts for the annexation as provided herein. <br /> 2. At the November 7, 2006, public hearing Planning Commission affirmed the <br /> Schools/Churches (2.1) Comprehensive Plan designation for the annexation area. <br /> See Exhibit A- Comprehensive Plan, Land Use Designations. <br /> 1 <br />
