WA 98208
(425) 357-9600 (phone)
c-mail dan@kosnik.com MEMORANDUM
ATTN: Mark Payne
COMPANY: Evergreen State Heating & AC
2120 Pacific Avenue
Everett. WA 98201
CC:
RE: New roof top AHU
DATE: 07-28-11
PROJECT: O'Reilly Auto Parts
Everett. WA
KE JOB NO. K-11-027
PAGES: I of 1
1 have performed a site visit to visually review the existing roof framing and the existing roof top unit
location and curb assembly. I understand it is your intent to replace the existing unit weighing
approximately 1,200 Ibs with a new unit and adapter curb weighing a total of 1750 lbs. I also understand
the existing wood curb will remain in place and that the adapter curb will be attached directly to this
existing curb.
It is my opinion based on my analysis of the new unit load distribution to the existing roof structure that
the existing roof structure can safely support the new, heavier roof top unit and adapter curb.
The adapter curb needs to be attached to the existing wood curb with (3)-#10x2" TEK screws along each
of the short, sides and (5)-4 1 Ox2" TEK screws along each of the long sides.
The new unit needs to be attached to the adapter curb with (3)-#]0" TEK screws along each of the short
sides and (5)-#10 TEK screws along each of the long sides.
I trust this brief memo and attached calculations will meet your needs. Please feel free to contact me if
you should require additional information or review concerning this matter.
Daniel Kosnik. SE
President
IF)
