Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2016 9:47 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Cc: Kevin Fagerstrom
Subject: 2232 Monroe Ave.
Don,
I have posted a stop work order on a house located at 2232 Monroe Ave.
Construction work is being conducted on this building without required permits. I have posted a stop work order on the
structure.
This house is extremely deteriorated it has severely rotted structural components (floors, walls, decks and roof) these
defects are so robust that they can be observed from the exterior of the building.
The front porch and steps have been completely removed.
The house appears vacant however the electrical service does appear to be connected. A carport roof area that serves
also as a deck/porch and landing for an exterior doorway is severely rotted and structurally unsafe. This rotted
roof/porch structure presents a significant hazard to anyone visiting the site. Someone has placed a sign at this location
warning of the hazard present. The warning sign is not sufficient to protect anyone from harm.
This is an Unsafe Structure as defined by the IPMC. If you agree with my assessment I am available to post the building
"Unsafe" in addition to the Stop Work posting.
Please view this property at your earliest convenience and if you concur, initiate enforcement action.
It is my opinion that this property is a public nuisance that requires immediate abatement due to the conditions and
hazards present.
Thank you in advance
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Department
425.257 7271
1
