Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 11:50 AM
To: Kevin Fagerstrom
Cc: Tony Lee; Jeff Heilman; Heidi Davis; Terri Jorgenson
Subject: RE: 1913 Walnut
Kevin,
I was able to look into the concerns at 1913 Walnut St. this morning, here are my findings.
1. An addition to the existing house structure has been constructed without required permits
and approvals.
This addition is located on the east portion of the main house which is located on the
westerly portion of the lot. This unpermitted addition is substantially completed.
2. The addition consists of a shed like structure that is attached to the main building. The
location of the northern portion of the addition appears to encroach into a required setback
area. Much of the work that is visible from the exterior driveway area is not code compliant.
(foundation, framing, setbacks and so forth) 3. I posted a stop work order on the building to
address the work being performed without required permits. The stop work order placard is
posted adjacent to the back door of the main house.
In addition to the unpermitted addition other code violations were observed on this
property as follows.
A. The smaller building (dwelling?) located adjacent to the alley has deteriorated exterior
conditions consistent with violations of the IPMC sections 304.
B. This building has electrical equipment and wiring that is damaged and installed in
violation of code. ( See photos and IPMC section 605.1)
This building is currently receiving a portion of its electrical needs via flexible
electrical cords. (see IPMC section 605.4)
Thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention.
Ted Budden
-----Original Message-----
From: Kevin Fagerstrom
Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 3:22 PM
To: Tony Lee; Ted Budden
Subject: 1913 Walnut
You fellows might want to take a look at this place. I'm right across the alley on another
case and this property is doubling their footprint and I don't see anything in PermitTrak.
Kevin
Your message is ready to be sent with the following file or link attachments:
