ORDINANCE NO. / /71/-- 8q 1 2 AN ORDINANCE relating to firearms, adding new sections to Everett 3 Municipal Code (EMC) Chapter 10.74, adding a new section to EMC Chapter 10.78, repealing sections 133 through 136 of 4 Ordinance No. 1145-85 (EMC 10.78.090 through EMC 10.78.120) , and repealing Section 84 of Ordinance 1145-85 (EMC 5 10.74.030) . 6 WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City of Everett be in conformity with 7 State law as it relates to firearms; 8 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 9 Section 1 : Use of firearms by minor. 10 No minor under the age of fourteen years shall handle or have in his or 11 her possession or under his or her control , except while accompanied by or 12 under the immediate charge of his or her parent or guardian or other adult 13 approved for the purpose of this section by the parent or guardian, or while 14 under the supervision of a certified safety instructor at an established gun 15 16 range or firearm training class, any firearm of any kind for hunting or 17 target practice or for other purposes. Every person violating any of the 18 foregoing provisions, or aiding or knowingly permitting any such minor to 19 violate the same, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. 20 Section 2: Delivery to minors and others forbidden. A. No person shall deliver a pistol to any person under the age of 21 22 twenty-one or to one who he or she has reasonable cause to believe has been 23 convicted of a crime of violence as defined in RCW Chapter 9.41 , or is a 24 drug addict, an habitual drunkard, or of unsound mind. B. Violation of any provision of this section is a misdemeanor. 25 26 Section 3: Firearms prohibited in Certain Places - Exceptions - Penalty. 27 28 A.
