Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Membership. The following establishes the membership for each of the boards <br /> regulated by Article V of the Charter: <br /> A. Animal shelter advisory committee—seven members; <br /> B. (RESERVED); <br /> C. Board of appeals (review)—seven members; <br /> D. Board of park commissioners—seven members; <br /> E. Citizens advisory committee—eleven members; <br /> F. Cultural commission—eleven members; <br /> G. Council of neighborhoods—not to exceed two members from each neighborhood <br /> (each member shall be appointed to a separate position); <br /> H. Emergency medical services advisory board—eleven members; <br /> I. Historic commission—nine members; <br /> J. Human needs advisory committee—seven members; <br /> K. Lodging tax advisory committee—five members; <br /> L. Museum board—seven members; <br /> M. Planning commission—seven members; <br /> N. Senior center advisory board—nine members; <br /> O. Sister cities advisory board—seven members; <br /> P. Solid waste advisory committee—seventeen members; <br /> Q. Transportation advisory committee—nine members; and <br /> R. Tree committee—seven members. <br /> Additionally, each board may have a maximum of two individuals serving in the <br /> capacity of alternates. Alternates shall serve in the absence of members when asked by <br /> the board chairperson and, when serving, shall have the same powers and responsibilities <br /> as duly appointed board members. <br /> Section 18. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 325-74 (EMC 8.32.105), which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Time extensions. <br /> The aforementioned time limits may be extended in the following manner: <br /> A. Any owner or lessee of an unoccupied service station may apply to the board of <br /> adjustment, as established in Title 15 of this code, for an extension of the one year time <br /> limitation specified in this chapter. Such application should be made not less than forty- <br /> five days prior to the end of the one year period. <br /> B. The board may authorize an extension of the time limitation specified herein for a <br /> period of not more than one hundred twenty days in those specific cases wherein the <br /> board finds that one of the following facts or conditions exist: <br /> 1. That the literal enforcement of the provisions or requirements of this chapter would <br /> cause undue and unnecessary hardship, including but not limited to economic hardship; <br /> 2. That there is a real probability that the service station will reopen or be converted to <br /> another use within one hundred twenty days. <br /> 9 <br />
