2. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of the Fire <br /> Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person, <br /> firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each <br /> and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the <br /> provisions of the Fire Code is committed, continued or permitted, and <br /> upon conviction of any such violation, such person, firm or corporation <br /> shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars, or <br /> imprisonment in jail not to exceed ninety days, or by both such fine and <br /> imprisonment. <br /> 3. The enforcement provisions and procedures provided herein are not <br /> exclusive and the City is authorized to pursue any remedy it deems <br /> appropriate or as otherwise provided by law. <br /> 4. The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans and/or <br /> specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a permit for, or an <br /> approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the Fire Code or any <br /> other law or regulation. No permit presuming to give authority to violate <br /> or cancel the provisions of the Fire Code shall be valid, except insofar as <br /> the work or use, which it authorized, is lawful. <br /> 5. The issuance or granting of a permit or approval of plans and/or <br /> specifications shall not prevent the Building Official, Fire Code Official <br /> from thereafter requiring the correction of errors in said plans and/or <br /> specifications or from preventing construction operation being carried on <br /> thereunder when in violation of the Fire Code or of any other ordinance, <br /> law or regulation or from revoking any certificate of approval when issued <br /> in error. <br /> Section 5: AMENDMENTS TO THE IFC CHAPTER 3, GENERAL PRECAUTIONS <br /> AGAINST FIRE <br /> A. Subsection 311.2.2 of the IFC, entitled"Fire protection"is hereby deleted and the <br /> following inserted in its place: <br /> 311.2.2 Fire protection. Fire alarm (including monitoring), sprinkler, and <br /> standpipe systems shall be maintained in an operable condition at all times. No <br /> exceptions are allowed. <br /> Section 6: AMENDMENTS TO THE IFC CHAPTER 5, FIRE SERVICE FEATURES. <br /> A. Subsection 503.2.1of the IFC, entitled"Dimensions"is hereby deleted and the following <br /> inserted in its place: <br /> 503.2.1 Dimensions. The following minimum dimensions shall apply for fire <br /> apparatus access roads: <br /> 1. Fire apparatus access roads shall have an unobstructed width of <br /> not less than 20 feet (6096 mm), except for approved security gates <br /> in accordance with section 503.6 and Appendix D 103.5, and an <br /> 6 <br />
