1 ORDINANCE NO. 137," <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE providing for submission to the qualified <br /> electors of the City of Everett, Washington, at a special <br /> 3 election to be held on September 18, 1990, of a proposition <br /> that the Everett Water System be adjusted to provide proper <br /> 4 levels of fluoride to help prevent tooth decay. <br /> 5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that the <br /> 6 qualified electors of Everett should have an opportunity to vote on whether <br /> 7 the Everett Water System should be adjusted to provide proper levels of <br /> 8 fluoride to help prevent tooth decay; <br /> 9 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 10 Section 1 : The water system of the City of Everett shall be adjusted <br /> 11 to provide proper levels of fluoride to help in the prevention of tooth <br /> 12 decay in accordance with current rules and regulations of the State of <br /> 13 Washington State Board of Health. <br /> 14 Section 2: The costs of said fluoridation shall be included as a water <br /> 15 <br /> system treatment cost. <br /> 16 Section 3: This ordinance shall be submitted to the qualified electors <br /> 17 of the City for popular vote for adoption or rejection at a special election <br /> 18 to be held on the 18th day of September, 1990. The Snohomish County Auditor <br /> 19 <br /> as ex officio supervisor of elections is hereby requested to assume <br /> 20 <br /> jurisdiction of and to call and conduct said election to be held within the <br /> 21 <br /> City and to submit to the qualified electors of the City the proposition <br /> 22 <br /> hereafter set forth. <br /> 23 The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed not less than <br /> 24 <br /> forty-five (45) days prior to September 18, 1990, to certify the following <br /> 25 <br /> proposition to the Snohomish County Auditor in the following form: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 PROPOSITION NO. 1 <br /> 28 FLUORIDE TO HELP <br /> PREVENT TOOTH DECAY <br /> 29 <br /> Shall an ordinance be adopted which provides that the Everett <br /> 30 Water System be adjusted to provide proper levels of fluoride to <br /> help prevent tooth decay? <br /> 31 YES <br /> 32 NO I I <br />
