l ORDINANCE N0.05-4g-g9 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing a Museum Advisory Board. 3 4 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City is increasingly expanding 5 its commitment towards providing the community with a quality museum; and 6 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there currently exists a museum 7 facility, a Museum Director and the Snohomish County Museum and Historical 8 Association ; and 9 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an advisory board needs to be 10 established for the purpose of advising the Mayor on museum related issues; 11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 12 Section 1 : PURPOSE. 13 An advisory board is hereby formed which board shall be entitled the 14 "Museum Advisory Board." The Board shall assist the Mayor by making 15 recommendations to the Mayor on museum related issues. 16 Section 2: BOARD MEMBERS AND TERMS. 17 The Museum Advisory Board shall consist of seven (7) members. The 18 members shall be appointed and removed by the Mayor with the approval of 19 City Council . The terms of the members shall be in accordance with Section 20 5.2 of the City Charter. 21 Section 3: BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES. 22 The responsibilities of the Museum Advisory Board shall include all 23 responsibilities necessary to carry out the purpose of the Board as set 24 forth in Section 1 which duties shall include but not be limited to the 25 following: 26 1 . Keeping the Mayor informed on City museum related issues 27 and providing the Mayor with recommendations on specific issues delegated to the Board; 28 2. Working with and meeting with the Snohomish County Museum 29 and Historical Association (hereinafter referred to as "Association" ) for the purpose of creating and developing a 30 working relationship for the preservation and presentation of historic items for the museum; 31 32
