l ORDINANCE N0.05-4g-g9 <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing a Museum Advisory Board. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City is increasingly expanding <br /> 5 its commitment towards providing the community with a quality museum; and <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there currently exists a museum <br /> 7 facility, a Museum Director and the Snohomish County Museum and Historical <br /> 8 Association ; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an advisory board needs to be <br /> 10 established for the purpose of advising the Mayor on museum related issues; <br /> 11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 12 Section 1 : PURPOSE. <br /> 13 An advisory board is hereby formed which board shall be entitled the <br /> 14 "Museum Advisory Board." The Board shall assist the Mayor by making <br /> 15 recommendations to the Mayor on museum related issues. <br /> 16 Section 2: BOARD MEMBERS AND TERMS. <br /> 17 The Museum Advisory Board shall consist of seven (7) members. The <br /> 18 members shall be appointed and removed by the Mayor with the approval of <br /> 19 City Council . The terms of the members shall be in accordance with Section <br /> 20 5.2 of the City Charter. <br /> 21 Section 3: BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES. <br /> 22 The responsibilities of the Museum Advisory Board shall include all <br /> 23 responsibilities necessary to carry out the purpose of the Board as set <br /> 24 forth in Section 1 which duties shall include but not be limited to the <br /> 25 following: <br /> 26 <br /> 1 . Keeping the Mayor informed on City museum related issues <br /> 27 and providing the Mayor with recommendations on specific <br /> issues delegated to the Board; <br /> 28 <br /> 2. Working with and meeting with the Snohomish County Museum <br /> 29 and Historical Association (hereinafter referred to as <br /> "Association" ) for the purpose of creating and developing a <br /> 30 working relationship for the preservation and presentation <br /> of historic items for the museum; <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
