1 ORDINANCE NO. /6-6 /4- ,V9 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 AN ORDINANCE authorizing sewer utility funding to encourage <br /> installation of sanitary sewer in the unsewered areas of <br /> 4 the City and establishing rates and charges related thereto. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that there are <br /> 7 areas of the City which are not served by the Everett sewer system and which <br /> 8 require sewer service for health, sanitation and Clean Water reasons and in <br /> 9 order to permit future improvement of undeveloped properties; and <br /> 10 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that, while the costs of sewer system <br /> 11 connection to unimproved properties should be primarily a property <br /> 12 development cost, there are City-wide health, sanitation and Clean Water <br /> 13 benefits in providing financial support to existing single family or low <br /> 14 density multiple residence owners in order to connect residences on septic <br /> 15 j tanks to the Everett sewer system; <br /> 16 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 17 Section 1 : The Everett Sewer Utility is authorized to pay $9,(9.-e,-0 <br /> — <br /> 18 per parcel to encourage formation of Local Improvement Districts for the <br /> 19 sole purpose of or which include the construction of sanitary sewers. <br /> 20 Section 2: Bond area sewer connection charges and special sewer <br /> 21 connection charges for single family residences shall be waived for the <br /> 22 period of 12 months after the LID construction contract is accepted by the <br /> 23 City. Said waiver shall not apply to connections to multi-family or <br /> 24 commercial /industrial structures. <br /> 25 Section 3: A refunding surcharge of $/'.3 per month for single <br /> 26 family residences and $ / , �� per 900 cu. ft. of water usage per month <br /> 27 for metered customers shall be charged to sewer system customers in LID' s <br /> 28 receiving sewer system payments, as provided in Section 1 above, commencing <br /> 99 with connection to the Everett sewer system or pursuant to Ordinance <br /> 30 No. 1164-85 (EMC 14.08.250) . <br /> :31 <br /> 32 <br />
