AIIP
/"/1.771
RESOLUTION NO. 6953
A RESOLUTION honoring Pat McClain, executive director of
government relations, for his service and contributions to the city of
Everett.
WHEREAS, Pat McClain has devoted the past 40 years to fostering a vibrant and
successful community, including 22 years of service to the City of Everett under
four different administrations;
WHEREAS, Pat is always quick to share credit, but has played a crucial role in
many important community endeavors throughout his time in Everett, both at
the City and in previous roles at the Everett Chamber of Commerce and Everett
Community College;
WHEREAS, Pat's fingerprints can be seen in nearly every major Everett
institution, from Boeing and the aerospace center to Naval Station Everett, from
the University Center and Washington State University to transportation
investments throughout the region, and finally, to our beloved AquaSox;
WHEREAS, Pat's love of sports and sports metaphors is fitting, because he has
often been called a coach — the one who assembles a team and rallies them
around a common goal, and who mentors new players as they join the
community;
WHEREAS, Pat has been valued throughout his career for his integrity, his
loyalty and his trustworthiness, all hallmarks of a true public servant;
WHEREAS, Pat has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues,
community members, legislators, college presidents, and military commanders
alike, and his ideas and enthusiasm will be greatly missed;
