ORDINANCE NO. /6-37 -17g AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for fiscal year commencing January 1 , 1989, on all taxable property , both real and personal , in said City , subject to taxation thereon , for the purpose of raising a portion of the revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year , as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the laws of the State of Washington ; prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said City for the fiscal year , and providing for the collection thereof. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted as required by law the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation , and WHEREAS, the qualified electors of the City voted approval of an additional regular property tax in an amount equal to twenty-five cents per thousand dollars of the assessed value of property in the City for funding an emergency medical services program , and WHEREAS , the qualified electors of the City voted approval of a proposition to levy regular property taxes for 20 years in excess of the 106% limitation but not to exceed $0. 228 per thousand of assessed value for the purpose of expanding the main library and constructing a branch library , and WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $234, 433 during the year 1989 upon its General Obligation 1982 Housing Authority Bond for payment of principal and interest , and WHEREAS , there is $136 , 433. 00 available to make part of the 1989 payments on the General Obligation 1982 Housing Authority Bonds , and WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of $884, 689 during the year 1989 upon its General Obligation 1988 Senior Housing/Center Bonds ,
