1 ORDINANCE NO. /jao2—gO <br /> 2 <br /> 3 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1249-86 by eliminating <br /> 4 special requirements for plastic pipes. <br /> 5 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Section 1 : That Section 3(J) of Ordinance No. 1249-86 (EMC 16.04.120) <br /> 8 which amended Section 1004 of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code <br /> 9 reads as follows: <br /> 10 <br /> J. Section 1004 of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing <br /> 11 Code is hereby amended by deleting: <br /> 12 (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, <br /> cast iron, galvanized malleable iron, galvanized wrought <br /> 13 iron; galvanized steel , lead or other approved materials. <br /> Asbestos-cement, PB, PE or PVC water pipe manufactured to <br /> 14 recognized standards may be used for cold water <br /> distribution systems outside a building. PB water pipe and <br /> 15 tubing may be used for hot and cold water distribution <br /> systems within a building. All materials used in the water <br /> 16 supply system, except valves and similar devices shall be <br /> of a like material , except where otherwise approved by the <br /> 17 Administrative Authority. <br /> 18 and inserting in its place: <br /> 19 (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, <br /> cast iron, galvanized malleable iron, galvanized wrought <br /> 20 iron, galvanized steel , lead or other approved material . <br /> Asbestos-cement, PB, PE or PVC water pipe manufactured to <br /> 21 recognized standards may be used for cold water <br /> distribution systems outside a building. All materials used <br /> in the water supply system, except valves and similar <br /> 24 devices shall be of a like material , except where otherwise <br /> 25 approved by the Administrative Authority. <br /> 26 be and the same amendment is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br /> 27 <br /> Section 2: SEVERABILITY. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Should any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase <br /> 30 of this ordinance or its application to any person or situation be declared <br /> unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect <br /> 31 <br /> 32 the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its application <br />
