RESOLUTION NO. 6555 <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing Everett Transit to change its fixed route fares effective January 1, <br /> 2013. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett, through Everett Transit has provided transit service since 1969; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, in July,2009 Everett Transit changed its base fare to seventy-five cents per trip; and <br /> WHEREAS,the cost of operations has increased due to fuel expenses since 2009; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit is part of the Regional Fare Agreement which includes Sound <br /> Transit, Community Transit, Kitsap Transit, King County Metro, Pierce Transit and Washington <br /> State Ferries representing One Regional Card for All(ORCA); and <br /> WHEREAS, an adult base cash fare increase from seventy-five cents to one dollar increases the <br /> monthly cost for unlimited fixed route service from twenty-seven dollars to thirty-six dollars with <br /> purchase of a monthly ORCA pass product; and <br /> WHEREAS, a youth base cash fare increase from fifty-cents to seventy-five cents increases the <br /> monthly cost for unlimited fixed route service from eighteen dollars to twenty-seven dollars with <br /> purchase of a monthly ORCA pass product; and <br /> WHEREAS; the reduced fare category base cash fare increase from free to twenty-five cents <br /> increases the monthly cost for unlimited fixed route service from free to nine dollars with <br /> purchase of a monthly ORCA agency only pass product; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of Everett: <br /> Effective January 1,2013,Everett Transit's fixed route fares shall increase twenty-five cents in <br /> all fare categories. <br /> • <br /> ,,,ilpers• a troducing Reso. ion <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this 31stday of ctobeV2012. <br /> `Council President <br />
