• • • • • • 1 ORDINANCE NO. /,5 f—e e 2 3 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1454-88 relating to licensing and regulation of dance halls to allow youths ages 16-20 to 4 attend teen dances until 1 :30 a.m. and declaring an emergency to exist. 5 6 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 7 Section 1 : That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1454-88 which reads as 8 follows: 9 Section 3: DEFINITIONS. 10 For the purpose of this Chapter and unless the context plainly 11 requires otherwise the following definitions are adopted: 12 A. "City" means the City of Everett, its officers, employees and agents. 13 B. "Clerk" means the Everett City Clerk or his or her 14 authorized representative. 15 C. "Knowledge" means that a person knows or acts knowingly or with knowledge when: 16 17 1 . he/she is aware of a fact, facts, or circumstances or result described by this Chapter; or 18 2. he/she has information which would lead a reasonable 19 person in the same situation to believe that facts exist, which facts are described by this Chapter. 20 21 D. "Person" includes any natural person and, in addition, any corporation, partnership or an unincorporated association. 22 E. "Public dance" means any dance that is open to the public 23 and which: 24 1 . is held and conducted for a profit, direct or 25 indirect; or 26 2. requires a monetary payment or contribution from any of the persons admitted. 27 28 The term "public dance" does not include a banquet, party or celebration conducted for invited guests which is not open to the 29 public. 30 F. "Public dance hall " means any place where a public dance is conducted, operated or maintained and includes the premises in 31 which the public dance is conducted, operated or maintained including but not limited to all parking areas , hallways, 32
