I <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. /4/47/-g8/ <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing the rates for low income senior and <br /> 3 low income disabled citizens residence water and sewer <br /> services and the qualifications therefor and repealing <br /> 4 Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1256-86 and Section 3 of <br /> Ordinance No. 627-79. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 7 <br /> Section 1 : Person(s) of the age of 62 years or older and person(s) <br /> 8 <br /> qualifying for special parking privileges under RCW 46.16.381 or a blind <br /> 9 <br /> person as defined in RCW 74.18.020 shall be eligible to pay a reduced rate <br /> 10 <br /> for water and sewer single family residence service as follows: <br /> 11 <br /> 12 $15,000/yr. income or less: 80% of current single family <br /> residence rates <br /> 13 <br /> 14 $12,000/yr. income or less: 70% of current single family <br /> residence rates <br /> 15 $ 9,000/yr. income or less: 60% of current single family <br /> residence rates <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 2: Qualifications for said reduced rates shall be: <br /> 18 a. The property to which the utility service is extended shall have <br /> 19 a valid property tax exemption, pursuant to RCW 84.36.381 through RCW <br /> 20 84.36.385. <br /> 21 b. Claimants for said reduction shall live within the corporate <br /> 22 limits of the City of Everett and have a household income level no greater <br /> 23 than the levels stated in Section 1 above; "income" as used herein shall be <br /> 24 computed in the same manner as in RCW 84.36.381 and RCW 84.36.383. <br /> 25 c. No persons receiving income other than the claimant or the <br /> 26 claimant and spouse shall occupy the property to which utility service is <br /> 27 extended. <br /> 28 Section 3: The City Treasurer shall establish rules, regulations, <br /> 29 forms and affidavits necessary for verification of eligibility for the <br /> 30 reduced rates for low income senior citizens as herein defined and to assure <br /> 31 compliance with the terms of this ordinance. <br /> 32 <br />
