PAYMENT TERMS: <br /> HONORARIUM: $10,050 US Dollars <br /> FLIGHT ALLOWANCE: Author responsible for arranging/paying for own airfare to Seattle area <br /> LOgGING ALLOWANCE: The venue is responsible for arranging and providing up to two nights lodging. <br /> GROUND TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCE: Author responsible for arranging/paying for own transportation in Seattle area <br /> TOTAL EXPENSES: $0 <br /> TOTAL AMOUNT DUE: $10,050 <br /> PAV'MENT DUE DATE: Saturday,February 10,2018 <br /> Please pay Books In Common directly,not the author.Accounts not paid within <br /> terms are subject to a.75%monthly charge.An invoice and signed W-9 will be <br /> emailed to you shortly.Sign this Event Confirmation to secure your event,and <br /> return to your Literary Events Consultant.You may also fax to(541)207-0371 <br /> (1)This contract,when signed below,will constitute an agreement between the hosting venue(Host)and Books In Common(BIC), <br /> with respect to the engagement of the Speaker to perform the services described,in accordance with the terms outlined above. <br /> This agreement creates an independent contractor relationship;it does not create,and shall not be construed as creating,any <br /> partnership,agency or joint venture between the parties. <br /> (2)All deposits and payments made by the Host to BIC as set forth by the terms of this agreement shall be nonrefundable in the <br /> event of a breach of contract of this agreement by the Host,or cancellation for any reason except as expressly set forth in <br /> paragraph(3).In the event of such cancellation, BIC will make every effort to work with the Host to reschedule,or come to a <br /> mutually agreeable resolution.Host agrees to pay 100%of the fee if cancellation occurs within 60 days of the scheduled event,and <br /> no tesolution is possible.If the event is rescheduled for any reason,the deposit will be applied to the rescheduled presentation. <br /> (3)In the event of cancellation of this agreement as a result of wars,civil riots,terrorism,strikes,fires,illness,unforeseen <br /> emergency,professional responsibility or act of God,the operation of this agreement shall be suspended.BIC will not have any <br /> liability for expenses or losses incurred by the Host or the Speaker,and neither party will have liability to the other party arising <br /> from such suspension.In such an event,BIC will provide its best efforts to arrange for a mutually agreeable change of date and/or <br /> comparable Speaker that is acceptable to the Host.
