• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. /,5/ 7 <br /> j , cf75 <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE amending the rates for sewer service in the City <br /> of Everett and amending Sections lA and 1B of Ordinance <br /> 3 No. 1264-86 (EMC 14.04.020 and 14.04.025). <br /> 4 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that increased <br /> 5 <br /> sewer service charges are necessary to help meet the wastewater treatment <br /> 6 <br /> plant's increased maintenance and operation costs; and <br /> 7 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the charges herein are reasonable; <br /> 8 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 9 <br /> Section 1 : Sections lA and 18 of Ordinance No. 1264-86 (EMC 14.04.020) <br /> 10 <br /> are hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> 11 <br /> 12 The charges for the collection and disposal of sanitary sewage <br /> waste for the classes of users connected and to be connected to <br /> 13 the sanitary sewer system or the combined sewer system are hereby <br /> • fixed as follows: <br /> 14 <br /> A. Single family residence: $12.30 per month <br /> 15 <br /> (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax. ) <br /> 16 <br /> B. For other than single family residence (multiple family <br /> 17 residence, commercial and industrial users, etc. ) the rate <br /> shall be computed in accordance with the following formula: <br /> 18 <br /> Sewer service charge per month = <br /> 19 <br /> Metered water usage X $12.30 <br /> 20 900 cubic feet <br /> 21 (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax. ) <br /> 22 Where the use of water is such that a portion of all of the water <br /> delivered to the customer does not discharge into a City sewer <br /> 23 due to commercial or industrial use, such as loss by evaporation <br /> or any other cause or use in manufactured products, such as ice, <br /> 24 canned goods, beverages and the like, no sewer service charge <br /> shall be made because of water so used or lost; provided, <br /> 25 however, the water user shall provide proof as to the amount of <br /> sewage discharge and/or install a meter or other measuring device <br /> 26 approved by the City Engineer to determine either the amount of <br /> sewage discharge or the amount of water o used or lost. <br /> 27 <br /> �....,. ..._.._._ moi y� <br /> WILLIAM E.
