He indicated that this may not be an item that we should allow being dumped in the
sewer system. I suggest that we have Evergreen Granite cover their work is with a tent or such and berm the parking
area to keep rainwater out of the cutting area. This will decrease the amount of water they have to deal with and help
minimize potential for surface water contamination. They can deal with hauling off their waste material on a weekly
schedule, that way they are required to deal with the situation on their own. Allowing an unsupervised connection to
the sewer for this material only leaves the door open for misuse. That's my opinion, someone in charge please make a
decision on this.Thanks, Kirk.
From: Charles ]ohnstone
Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2016 3:11 PM
To: Jeff Stewart
Cc: Kirk Brooks; Sabrina Fandler; Mike Papa; Jeff Kerwin
Subject: RE: Sediment control plan- Evergreen Granite
Thanks for the information. Discharge from the settling/pretreatment system should be connected to the property's side
sewer, or be routed to sewer through a fixture or drain on the property. Unless there is a suitable existing drain or
fixture you will need a permit. And if so please do check with Engineering and Public Services (building/permitting folks-
upstairs at 3200 Cedar St) in case some other submittal requirements may apply.
Once installed, IPT requires users to perform regular maintenance on pretreatment systems, and staff must keep a
record of any maintenance or repairs, typically for a minimum of three years.
Please contact our office with any pretreatment questions or concerns.
Charles Johnstone ""'
Industrial Waste Inspector .\• L
Everett Public Works
425-257-8240-8224 ,
From: Mike Papa r
Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2016 11:29 AM
To: JefF Stewart
Cc: Charles ]ohnstone; Kirk Brooks; Sabrina Fandler
Subject: RE: Sediment control plan- Evergreen Granite
Thank you.
