Ordinance No. z-549`?-47%7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1326-87, ENTITLED, "Walnut Street Extension", Fund No. 383, to provide for increased funding appropriation. WHEREAS, it has been determined that the existing base material under Maple Street is weaker than originally anticipated and that in order to construct a road to withstand the anticipated heavy arterial truck traffic it will be necessary to remove the existing road base and replace it with more expensive imported material. WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation has specified a more expensive retaining wall to hold back the freeway embankment than was originally anticipated. WHEREAS, the project scope has been expanded to add in sidewalk improvements on Pacific Avenue at increased cost. WHEREAS, the project scope has been expanded to add street lighting, signal loops and additional channelization at increased cost. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1326-87 which reads as follows: Section 3: The sum of ($146,000) is hereby appropriated to Fund 383 Program 895 "Walnut Street Extension" The source of funds shall be Fund 304, "1967 Street Bond Construction Fund" The remaining $164,000 for traffic signals at Hewitt and Pacific shall be paid directly from Fund 301 "Traffic Engineering Improvements" under a separate Plans and Systems Ordinance.
