4 <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. / 3 7/-17 <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing a charge for Pressure Reducing Valves <br /> 3 (PRV's) . <br /> 4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that PRV' s are <br /> 5 required to be installed and maintained at certain water services on the <br /> 6 water transmission lines in order to avoid pressure variances which may <br /> 7 affect service to water system customers; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, the charges established herein reasonably cover the cost of <br /> 9 installation and maintenance of said PRV's; <br /> 10 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 11 Section 1 : The Utilities Division Superintendent shall determine <br /> 12 transmission line water service customers which require a pressure reducing <br /> 13 valve (PRV) and the City will install and maintain PRV's as part of the <br /> 14 service to such customers. <br /> 15 Section 2: The cost of the installation and maintenance of PRV's shall <br /> 16 be recovered through the following charges which shall be added to all other <br /> 17 water charges: <br /> 18 Service Size Monthly Service Water Charge <br /> 19 1/2 thru 1 inch $ 4.25 <br /> 20 2 inch 10.00 <br /> 3 inch 12.50 <br /> 21 4 inch 19.00 <br /> 22 6 inch 25.00 <br /> 23 8 inch 49.00 <br /> 24 Section 3: Section 23A of Ordinance No. 1237-86 (EMC 14.16.230) which <br /> 25 reads as follows: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 A. Excessive Pressure. In services where the water pressure <br /> at the main is considered by the customer to be in excess <br /> 28 of the desired pressure, such customer may, at his option, <br /> install an approved type strainer and pressure regulator on <br /> 29 his own premises in an accessible location. All costs of <br /> installation, operation and maintenance shall be borne by <br /> 30 the customer. <br /> 31 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 32 <br />
