This is also where two downspouts currcntly discharge onto the ground near the foundations. Dischargc of stormwater near the foundations can lead to foundation settlement. We rccommend extending the downspout discharge to a point at lcast ten fect distant from the perimeter foundations. A total of 1000 square feet of impervious area may discharge to a rock pocket or infiltration trench with at least 60 cubic feet of washcd graveL The trench should be at lcast 2 feet widc and 2 feet deep and 15 feet long. Alternatively a dry we114 feet in diameter and 5 feet deep may bc used to collect the downspout discharge for 1000 square fect of impervious area. Additional Services Additional serviccs by the geotechnical engineer are important to help insure that report recommendations are correctly interpreted in final project dcsign and to help verify compliance with project specifications during the constniction process. For this project we anticipate additional services might include the following: 1. Verify soil bearing of soil once footings have been excavated. Provide periodic construction field reports if required by the building department. We would provide these additional services on a time-and-expense basis in accordance with our Standard Fee Schedule and General Conditions already in place for this project.
