r `
ATTACHMENT 1
ESSENTIAL FISH HABITAT ASSESSMENT
MAGNUSON-STEVENS ACT ESSENTIAL FISH HABITAT
Commercially important salmonids potentially present in the project vicinity include
Chinook and coho salmon present in Swamp Creek approximately 2 miles downstream of
the project area and about 1/2 mile below Lake Stickney. Construction of the proposed
lift station improvements, and installation and operation of the proposed pumping
equipment and sewer mains will involve no in-water work and will provide the Mukilteo
Water& Wastewater District and the City of Everett with adequate wastewater pumping
and conveyance infrastructure to serve the Holly Drive Lift Station service area for the
next 20 years. Further, construction BMPs for the control of sedimentation and erosion
will be implemented during all construction activities to ensure that water quality and
Essential Fish Habitat downstream in Swamp Creek are not adversely impacted.
Therefore, the proposed project will have no effect on Essential Fish Habitat for Chinook
and coho salmon populations present in Swamp Creek downstream of the project area.
