We will be utilizing option 2 - Reduced <br /> lighting power in accordance with C406.3. <br /> C406.3 - Reduced lighting power, the total interior lighting power of the building shall be 75% or less of <br /> the lighting power values specified in Table C405.4.2 (1) times the floor area for the building types, or by <br /> using 75 percent of the interior lighting power allovvance calculated by the Space-by-Space Method in <br /> Section C405.4.2. <br /> In addition, not less than 95 percent of the interior lighting power from lamps permanently installed light <br /> fixtures in dwelling units and sleeping units shall be provided by lamps with a minimum efficacy of 60 <br /> lumens per watt. (No dwelling units in our project, does not apply). <br /> C503 Alterations <br /> C503.1 states that alterations to any building or struc:ture shall comply with the requirements of the code <br /> for new construction. Alterations shall be such that the existing building or structure is no less conforming <br /> with the provisions of this code than the existing building or structure was prior to the alteration. <br /> Alterations to an existing building, building system or portion thereof shall conform to the provisions of <br /> this code as they relate to new construction without requiring the unaltered portions of the existing <br /> building or building system to comply with this code. Alterations shall not create an unsafe or hazardous <br /> condition or overload existing building systems. <br /> Altered elements are being treated as new construction and comply with the current envelope <br /> prescriptive provisions. The altered elements do not change the level of conformance currently existing. <br /> C503.2 Change in space conditioning—No change in space conditioning. <br /> C503.3 Building Envelope— New building envelope assemblies adhere to current prescribed provisions. No <br /> roof replacement, no vertical fenestration replacement, no skylight replacement. <br /> C503.4 Mechanical Systems — no changes to mechanical system such that existing mechanical systems <br /> would become out of compliance. <br /> C503.5 Service hot water systems—no new service hot water. <br /> C503.6 Lighting and motors— lighting to be up to current code standards. <br /> C503J Refrigeration systems— no refrigeration syste�ms in this project. <br /> Page 1 of 1 y/� <br /> �/ 3� <br />
