ENG/NEER/NG
` ::::=: '  PUBL/C SERV/CES DEPARTMENT
March 15, 2017
Dustin Thorlakson
dthorlakson@fhoarch.com
Freiheit & Ho Architects, Inc. P.S.
5209 Lake Washington Blvd NE
Kirkland, WA 98033
RE: Owner: Amazon Corporate, LLC
Job Address: 6611 Associated Blvd.
Plan Check Number: M1703-020
Dear Mr. Thorlakson,
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you
are advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Building Architectural, Public
Works, Planning, or Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), the
2015 International Existing Building Code (IEBC), the 2015 International Property Maintenance
Code (IPMC), the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), the 2015 International Mechanical Code
(IMC), and the 2015 International Energy Conservation (IECC), as amended by the State of
Washington (WSEC) and adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for
accessible design is the 2009 "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1).
Federal ADA, FHA, and HUD regulations and standards, including the Fair Housing Accessibility
Guidelines may be more restrictive.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
and/or calculations stamped &signed reflecting the corrections requested. All
revisions require the person delivering the drawings to replace the revisions into the
two sets here at our offices. For significant revisions, or if the revisions are coming
directly from a document printing facility, please make arrangements with them to
print and deliver two replacement sets.
Structural
1. On Sheet M1.2, between Grids D/E and Grids 3/4, Grids 5/6, there appears to be two
HVAC mechanical units that weigh 3500 Ibs in each location. Please provide
engineering calculations and details indicating that the units are properly anchored per
ASCE 7-10 Sections 13.4 and 13.6, based on the governing design lateral force. Also,
please provide calculations and details indicating the new units are adequately
supported by the existing framing or that strengthening of existing members is
provided per IEBC Section 707.2.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax (425) 257-8857
