GeoDesign noted that the exposed foundation subgrade consisted of a brown silty SAND
with gravel (previously placed loose surcharge material)which could be probed 3 feet using a 1/2 inch diameter soil probe
across the entire lot area. GeoDesign noted the PVC pipe associated with a settlement marker from Phase 2 (SM-23)
which appeared to s±ill be buried approximately 3 feet.
GeoDesign notified Craig with DDS and the client that the lot area is currently unsuitable for support of the intended
structure. GeoDesign recommends that the loose surcharge material be removed down to firm and unyielding material and
replaced with structural fill material.
Lot 225:
Upon arrival, GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation subcontractor had completed excavation of the footing and
crawl space area for Lot 225. GeoDesign noted that the exposed foundation subgrade consisted of a brown silty SAND
with gravel (previously placed loose surcharge material)which could be probed up to 3 feet using a 1/2 inch diameter soil
probe. Material along the north side of the lot could be probed approximately 6 inches, 1 to 1.5 feet along the center, and
2.5 to 3 feet along the south side.
GeoDesign notified Craig with DDS and the client that the lot area is currently unsuitable for support of the intended
structure. GeoDesign recommends that the loose surcharge material be removed down to firm and unyielding material and
replaced with structural fill material.
A summary of our observations can be found in the attached Figure 1 and Photo Log.
This report prezents opinions formed as a result of our observation of activities relating to geotechnical engineering or environmental services. We rely on Ihe contractor to comply with the plans and
specifications(hroughout the duration of the projet irrespective of the presence of our representative.
