The descriptions of groundwater conditions and depths are likewise <br /> approximate. The following is a generalized description of the soils encountered in the <br /> borings. <br /> Asphalt/Fill: At our boring locations, we encountered 2 to 3 inches of asphalt <br /> pavement over a thin layer of crushed rock base course over fill soils generally <br /> comprised of loose, silty sand with organics. The existing fill extended to depths of <br /> . 2'/z feet in boring PG-1 (located on the east side of the existing building), and to <br /> about 5 feet in borings PG-2 and PG-3 (west side of the existing building). The fill <br /> , was characterized by its dark brown color and loose consistency. <br /> Vashon Till (Qvt): Underlying the fill, the test borings encountered medium dense <br /> to very dense silty fine to medium sand with gravel which we classified as Vashon <br /> Till. The upper approximately two to three feet of the till unit was weathered and <br /> medium dense grading to dense to very dense below the weathered material. All test <br /> borings were terminated in this soil unit. <br /> (�ur subsurface descriptions are based on the conditions encountered at the time of our <br /> f;xploration. Soil conditions between our exploration locations may vary from those <br /> f;ncountered. The nature and extent of variations between our exploratory locations may <br /> �lot become evident until construction. If variations do appear, PanGEO should be <br /> requested to reevaluate the recommendations in this report and to modify or verify them <br /> in writing prior to proceeding with earthwork and construction. <br /> ,3.4 GROUNDWATER <br /> l�vidence of groundwater seepage was not observed in our borings at the time of drilling. <br /> 'I'he till underlying the site generally has low permeability and perched groundwater may <br /> develop on top of the till, ar in lenses of more permeable soil within the till formation. If <br /> f.ncountered, we anticipate groundwater seepage rates will be minor. <br /> 'There will be fluctuations in seepage depending on the season, amount of rainfall, surface <br /> water runoff, and other factors.
