Box 12176
Mill Creek, WA 98082
Dear Mr. Mustach:
Subject: Geotechnical Review of Design Plans
Single-Family Residence
4125 Grand Avenue
Everett, Washington
L&A Job No. 17-034
We have completed a geotechnical review of the design plans for the subject project. We
recommend that the following notes be added and design detailed be corrected on the
design plans:
1. Add a note to say that "The recommendations in the Geotechnical Report, dated
3/18/2017, prepared by Liu & Associates, Inc. for this projcct, should be complied
with during construction.
2. Add a note to say "Fill and peat deposit should be removed down to dense advance
outwash sand soil with ovei•-excavation backfilled with structural fill, on which
footing foundations, on-grade floor slabs, and driveway are to be constructed, per
recommendations in Liu& Associates, 3/18/2017 geotechnical report."
3. The gravel fill enclosing the footing drain pipes should be extended upward on the
back of the basement walls to within about 12 to 16 inches of finish grade to ensure
basement walls will not be subjected to hydrostatic pressure.
19213 Kenlake Place NE • Kenmore, Washington 98028
Phone (425) 483-9134 • Fax (425) 486-2746
r .
