II <br /> • <br /> • <br /> Ordinance No. <br /> 4596 --a27 <br /> An ordinance creating a special construction fund <br /> entitled "Walnut Street Extension" fund 383, <br /> authorizing the design and construction of street <br /> improvements on Walnut Street from Pacific Avenue <br /> to Hewitt Avenue. <br /> WHEREAS, on May 23, 1984, Council adopted resolution No. 2431 identifying <br /> the "Walnut" alternative as the selected SR2 eastbound on-ramp alternative fort <br /> access from Hewitt Avenue to the SR2 "trestle" for eastbound traffic; and 1 <br /> 1 <br /> WHEREAS, the 1967 Street Bond Construction Fund identified Maple Street <br /> for improvement and the City Council finds that the improvements proposedt <br /> herein for Walnut will directly improve traffic on Maple due to the proximity <br /> of the two streets; and I <br /> WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation is currently in <br /> 1 <br /> the process of "turning back" to the City certain Interstate 5 right-of-way to <br /> facilitate alignment of the Walnut Street Extension; <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> 1 <br /> t <br /> 1 <br /> Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 383, 1 <br /> Program 895 entitled "Walnut Street Extension," W.O. #1618, tol <br /> accomplish the proposed street improvements adopted by Resolution ] <br /> No. 2431. <br /> Section 2: The total estimated cost of the improvement is $310,000, which <br /> shall include all costs related to the design, construction, <br /> inspection and contract administration. <br /> Section 3: The sum of $146,000 is hereby appropriated to Fund 383 Program 8951 <br /> "Walnut Street Extension". <br /> The source of funds shall be Fund 304 "1967 Street Bond ' <br /> Construction Fund." <br /> The remaining $164,000, for traffic signals at Hewitt and <br /> Pacific, shall be paid directly from Fund 301 "Traffic , <br /> Engineering Improvements" under a separate Plans and Systems <br /> Ordinance. <br />
