January 10, 2018 <br /> A special meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 5 p.m., <br /> January 10, 2018, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore <br /> Historic City Hall, Council President Roberts presiding. Upon roll call, it was <br /> found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, <br /> McNeal, and Tuohy were present. Council Members Bader and Stonecipher <br /> were expected to be a few minutes late. <br /> SERVICE CENTER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br /> President Roberts welcomed guests to the special meeting. He stated the <br /> purpose of the meeting was to bring forward the six potential options for the <br /> Service Center redevelopment project to the full Council for review. <br /> Mayor Franklin stated she directed staff to provide the full update of the <br /> work that the General Government Subcommittee did, share the status of <br /> the Snohomish Health District building purchase, and highlight the Mayor's <br /> new directive to ensure staff safety as the top priority. <br /> Council Member Bader entered the council chambers at 5:06 p.m. <br /> Paul Kaftanski, Administration, introduced city staff: Chris Lark, Mike <br /> Palacios, Tony Lee, Matt Welborn, and Kathleen Baxter. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher entered the council chambers at 5:16 p.m. <br /> Facilities and Public Works staff provided a summary of prior consultant <br /> studies, which included a seismic assessment of Public Works buildings, <br /> centroid of service study, Service Center Relocation study, and Service <br /> Center master plan. They also provided key findings, analysis of prior work, <br /> summary of previously identified sites, analysis of Service Center <br /> interdependency and proximity, the Rucker building study, and an overview <br /> of potential long-term and short-term options. <br /> Considerable discussion took place. Paul Kaftanski, Administration, stated <br /> more detailed analysis and study will be done, and information will be <br /> presented to the Council for further discussion. <br /> 12 <br />
