• 2. Scholarship Fund - Allocate $500.00 CDBG funds to provide financial assistance for needy children to attend summer school. (This project is not eligible for street overlay funds.) 3. Riverside History Project - Allocate $3000 of CDBG funds for publication of a second volume of "Riverside Remembers". (This project is not eligible for street overlay funds.) 4. Sidewalk Improvement - Allocate the following funds for sidewalk replacements: 1986 CDBG $21,904. a. Sidewalk Improvements - Maple Street/Leonard Drive - Replace broken and raised sidewalk on the north side of Leonard Drive and on the west side of Maple. (This project is eligible for street overlay funds. ) b. 21st Street/State Street - Replace broken and cracked sidewalk on the east side of State Street. (This project is eligible for street overlay funds.) c. 2000 Block of Fulton - replace broken and cracked sidewalk on the west side of Fulton. (This project is eligible for street overlay funds.) d. Remaining funds will be used to repair sidewalks as designated by the Riverside Neighborhood and approved by the Public Works Department. (This project is eligible for street overlay funds). Section 3: Should costs be less for the above projects than originally estimated, projects receiving the next highest neighborhood priority shall be included for funding. If project costs exceed the estimates given, the lowest priority project or projects will be dropped for funding. Section 4: If any of the above projects is started but not completed, completion of the project(s) will be made the first priority in that neighborhood and funded if any 1987 Block Grant funds are received by the neighborhood where an uncompleted project is located. Section 5: All of the above projects shall conform to the requirements of the City Ordinance 555-78, as amended by City Ordinances 655-80 and 793-82. Determination of the appropriate standards to impose shall be made by the City Engineer. Section 6: The total estimated cost of the improvements herein authorized is $114,059.16 which will include all costs related to design, construction, contract administration, plan development and associated costs. Section 7: The City Engineer of the City of Everett under the administration of the Mayor is hereby given the responsibility of providing for the street, sidewalk and drainage improvemnents as defined herein. Planning will be responsible for the neighborhood cleanups, paint program, historical signs, play equipment, scholarship fund and history projects. Section 8: The Mayor has also approved funding from the street overlay fund to complete neighborhood improvements in Northeast, Riverside and Port Gardner, provided that CDBG funds are expended for street and sidewalk improvement projects.
