• <br /> 2. Scholarship Fund - Allocate $500.00 CDBG funds to provide <br /> financial assistance for needy children to attend summer <br /> school. (This project is not eligible for street overlay funds.) <br /> 3. Riverside History Project - Allocate $3000 of CDBG funds for <br /> publication of a second volume of "Riverside Remembers". <br /> (This project is not eligible for street overlay funds.) <br /> 4. Sidewalk Improvement - Allocate the following funds for sidewalk <br /> replacements: 1986 CDBG $21,904. <br /> a. Sidewalk Improvements - Maple Street/Leonard Drive - <br /> Replace broken and raised sidewalk on the north side of <br /> Leonard Drive and on the west side of Maple. (This project <br /> is eligible for street overlay funds. ) <br /> b. 21st Street/State Street - Replace broken and cracked <br /> sidewalk on the east side of State Street. (This project <br /> is eligible for street overlay funds.) <br /> c. 2000 Block of Fulton - replace broken and cracked sidewalk <br /> on the west side of Fulton. (This project is eligible <br /> for street overlay funds.) <br /> d. Remaining funds will be used to repair sidewalks as <br /> designated by the Riverside Neighborhood and approved by the <br /> Public Works Department. (This project is eligible for <br /> street overlay funds). <br /> Section 3: Should costs be less for the above projects than originally <br /> estimated, projects receiving the next highest neighborhood priority shall <br /> be included for funding. If project costs exceed the estimates given, the <br /> lowest priority project or projects will be dropped for funding. <br /> Section 4: If any of the above projects is started but not completed, <br /> completion of the project(s) will be made the first priority in that <br /> neighborhood and funded if any 1987 Block Grant funds are received by the <br /> neighborhood where an uncompleted project is located. <br /> Section 5: All of the above projects shall conform to the requirements of <br /> the City Ordinance 555-78, as amended by City Ordinances 655-80 and 793-82. <br /> Determination of the appropriate standards to impose shall be made by the <br /> City Engineer. <br /> Section 6: The total estimated cost of the improvements herein authorized <br /> is $114,059.16 which will include all costs related to design, construction, <br /> contract administration, plan development and associated costs. <br /> Section 7: The City Engineer of the City of Everett under the <br /> administration of the Mayor is hereby given the responsibility of providing <br /> for the street, sidewalk and drainage improvemnents as defined herein. <br /> Planning will be responsible for the neighborhood cleanups, paint program, <br /> historical signs, play equipment, scholarship fund and history projects. <br /> Section 8: The Mayor has also approved funding from the street overlay fund <br /> to complete neighborhood improvements in Northeast, Riverside and Port <br /> Gardner, provided that CDBG funds are expended for street and sidewalk <br /> improvement projects. <br />
