Aua- 626 2 AN ORDINANCE extending the effective date of the City-wide 3 interim billboard regulations and amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1129-85 and repealing Ordinance No. 1195-85. 4 5 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Ordinance No. 1129-85 established 6 interim billboard regulations for the purpose of acting as a stop-gap 7 measure to enable the City to study the issue of billboards; and 8 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Ordinance NO. 1129-85 was 9 effective until September 30, 1985; and 10 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that through the adoption of Ordinance 11 No. 1163-85 the effective date was extended through December 31, 1985; and 12 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the interim billboard regulations 13 were further extended by Ordinance No. 1195-85 through March 31, 1986, to 14 provide the Planning Commission with additional time to consider the 15 proposed billboard ordinances; and 16 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the billboard industry is now 17 requesting that, the interim billboard regulations be further extended to 18 allow the industry additional time to work with the Planning Commission on 19 the issue of billboard regulation; and 20 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the effective date of the interim 21 billboard ordinance needs to be further extended in order to provide 22 adequate time for the billboard industry to work with the Planning 23 Commission on the issue of billboard regulation; and 24 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that proper notice has been provided to 25 the citizens of Everett and that a public hearing has been held concerning 26 the adoption of this ordinance; 27 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 28 Section 1: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1129-85 as amended by 29 Ordinance No. 1195-85 which reads as follows: 30 31 32
