DESIGNzu FIELD REPORT"'-,
1 Of 3. V111,
Project Name: Everett River Front-Simpson Report: 022 023
GeoDesign#: I Polygon-127-03 Date: 01/26/2017
Reports with Unresolved Nonconformance Issues: Permit:
PAW 15505-005
Nick Abdelnour(Polygon) I Randy Allen(City of Everett) Weather:Cloudy, 40's
—
Ron Bowen(Polygon) Eddy Stevens(Polygon) Arrival/Departure: 0815/0915
Distribution: f ---
Doug Ross(Polygon) Kirk Keck(City of Everett)
Paul McKee(City of Everett) Dave Foster(City of Everett) Prepared By: Joe Dapeevich
m Site Plan(s) m Density Test Summary Signature:
Attachments: ❑ Installation Records ❑ Other Reviewed By:
PURPOSE of VISIT: GeoDesign representative, Joe Dapcevich, was on-site part time at the request of John Feltner with
Polygon to observe the foundation subgrade for Lots 134 and 141.
SUMMARY of OBSERVATIONS:
Lot 141:
Hand probing the foundation subgrade surface with a 1/2" diameter steel foundation rod indicated approximately 2" of
surficially loose and saturated material and areas of shallow standing water(approximately 1"deep). We continue to
recommend removing the water and surficially saturated material prior to pouring of footings. GeoDesign identified one
area along the north perimeter which could be probed 1 to 1.5 feet. GeoDesign recommended over-excavating the area
1.5'and line it with non-woven geotextile material and backfilled with 2-inch clean crushed railroad ballast material
compacted into a firm and unyielding mass. Relative compaction of the exposed footing subgrade material was tested
using a Troxler Moisture-Density gauge. In-place density tests indicated that the footing subgrade material had been
compacted to greater than 95%of its maximum dry density as determined by a Modified Proctor analysis.
Lot 134:
Hand probing the foundation subgrade surface with a 1/2"diameter steel foundation rod indicated approximately 2"of
surficially loose and saturated material and areas of shallow standing water(approximately 1"deep). John Feltner and Eddy Stevens with Polygon were notified of our observations prior to our departure from the site.
This report presents opinions formed as a result of our observation of activities relating to geotechnical engineering or environmental services. We rely on the contractor to comply with the plans and
specifications throughout the duration of the project irrespective of the presence of our representative, Ourwork does not Include supervision or direction of the contractor, the contractor's employees
or agents. Our f rm is not responsible for site safety. This field report is a DRAFT representation of our field observations, testing, and preliminary recommendations. The report can only be considered
final upon review of the GeoDesign project manager,as Indicated by initials in the"Reviewed By"section.
10700 Meridian Avenue North,Suite 402 1 Seattle,WA 98133 1 206.838.9900
2502 Jefferson Avenue I Tacoma,WA 98402 1 253.203.0095
