I <br /> Parking: The CONTRACTOR shall make any necessary contacts with all applicable governmental <br /> bodies to arrange for the removal of parked automobiles, vehicles and other obstructions if they <br /> Iwould interfere with the performance of the CONTRACTOR'S work. <br /> Accidents: The CONTRACTOR'S Project Manager or superintendent shall be in charge of accident <br /> I prevention. CONTRACTOR shall take all actions necessary to prevent damage, injury and loss to <br /> persons and property as a result of accidents. <br /> I Project Health and Safety Plan: CONTRACTOR shall develop, publish, and implement an overall <br /> Project Health and Safety Program for the Project. This Program shall conform to all applicable <br /> codes. Contractor shall submit the written Safety Program to the OWNER within thirty (30) days <br /> after the receipt of the written Notice to Proceed. The Plan shall be assembled to address project <br /> Ispecific health and safety issues to both the public and on-site personnel. The plan shall include the <br /> following items when they apply: <br /> I • Employee orientation • Hazardous communications program <br /> • Safety inspections • Job hazard analysis <br /> • Instruction and training • First aid/medical facilities <br /> I • Accident reporting • Personal protective equipment <br /> • Signs and barricades • Confined space entry plan <br /> • Fire prevention and protection • Shoring plan <br /> I • Welding, cutting and burning • Fall protection plan <br /> • Painting and surface treatment • Emergency Action Plan <br /> • Electricity • Housekeeping <br /> I • Machinery and mechanized equipment • Safety training requirements and <br /> • Excavations certification <br /> • Sanitation • Pedestrian access around work site <br /> • Chlorine safety during construction and after hours <br /> • Hazardous materials <br /> I If the project requires other health and safety issues to be addressed, they too shall be included in <br /> the Project Health and Safety Plan. The Program shall subsequently be distributed to and <br /> implemented by the CONTRACTOR's personnel as well as its Subcontractors and Suppliers. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall fully implement and comply with the Safety Program, and shall submit to the <br /> I OWNER a letter signed by CONTRACTOR'S owner/president affirming such implementation and <br /> compliance within fifteen (15) days after on-site work has started. CONTRACTOR shall notify the <br /> I OWNER when safety meeting will be held so that Owner's personnel may attend. A copy of the <br /> approved Health and Safety Plan must be maintained on-site at all times during the life of the <br /> Project. <br /> I The OWNER has no responsibility for Work site safety. Work site safety is the responsibility of the <br /> CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR is required to have a competent person on site at all times <br /> during construction activities. <br /> IThe CONTRACTOR shall provide signs on work zone fencing that provide information regarding <br /> access to businesses and stating that such businesses are open and in operation.
