B. When tests indicate materials do not meet specified requirements, change material or vary <br /> compaction methods and retest. Additional testing shall be completed and paid for by the <br /> ' Contractor with no reimbursement by the Owner. <br /> C. Furnish materials of each type from same source throughout the Work. <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 EXCAVATION <br /> A. Excavate material of every nature and description to the lines and grades as indicated on the <br /> Drawings and/or as required for construction of facilities. <br /> B. Site within clearing limits shall be stripped of topsoil as required to obtain additional topsoil <br /> ' necessary to complete Work indicated in the Drawings or as specified. <br /> C. When practical, do not excavate wet top soil. <br /> ' D. Stockpile excavated material meeting requirements for subsoil materials and topsoil <br /> materials. <br /> ' E. Remove excess excavated subsoil and topsoil not intended for reuse from Site. <br /> F. Remove excavated materials not meeting requirements for subsoil materials and topsoil <br /> materials from Site. <br /> 3.2 STOCKPILING <br /> ' A. Stockpile soils at locations shown in the Drawings or at locations as approved by Engineer <br /> for redistribution as specified. <br /> 1. Site may not have sufficient area to stockpile excavated material that will be required for <br /> fill later in the project. If additional stockpile area is required to complete the Project on <br /> schedule, arrange off-site stockpile areas. <br /> ' 2. No additional payments will be made for stockpiling excavated materials off-site. <br /> ' B. Stockpile in sufficient quantities to meet Project schedule and requirements. <br /> C. Separate differing materials with dividers or stockpile apart to prevent mixing. <br /> D. Prevent intermixing of soil types or contamination. <br /> E. Direct surface water away from stockpile site to prevent erosion or deterioration of materials. <br /> 1. Grade surface of stockpiles to prevent ponding of water. <br /> 2. Cover stockpiles to minimize the infiltration of water. <br /> ' F.
