Huntting,PE 352-15 SUBJECT: Preliminary Pile Design fis;`" s McClean Iron Works Pier Project �JONAL'�� 2102 Ross Avenue Everett,Washington NGA File No. 7903B16 Exp.July 28,2017 INTRODUCTION NGA was originally retained in 2008 to provide foundation recommendations for a new metal fabrication plant at the subject property and to monitor the installation of 4-inch and 6-inch diameter steel pipe piles for foundations. The recently proposed project consists of constructing a new pile supported pier on the Snohomish River, which borders the property to the southwest. NGA has been retained to provide geotechnical consultation for design and installation of a pile foundation for the pier and to monitor the installation of the piles. This memorandum provides information about the soil,geological,and groundwater conditions at the site and our opinions and recommendations for installing 18-diameter steel pipe piles. SITE CONDITIONS Surface Conditions The property consists of an approximately 6.7-acre rectangular parcel that is bordered to the north by Ross Avenue, to the east and west by commercial properties and to the south by the Snohomish River. The site is occupied by a metal fabrication plant, consisting of an approximately 300- by 100-foot metal-framed manufacturing building,adjoining office space,and Portland cement concrete pavement.
