Washington State Department of Social and Health Services <br /> Transforming <br /> Lives <br /> August 1, 2017 <br /> Contact: <br /> Kelly Stowe <br /> DSHS Office of Communications <br /> (360)902-7739 <br /> ke l l v.sto we(a1 d s h s.wa.gov <br /> Public hearing on proposed opioid treatment program in Skagit County set for Aug.30 <br /> OLYMPIA-The Department of Social and Health Services(DSHS)has scheduled a public hearing in Skagit <br /> County to receive comments on plans for a new substance use disorder treatment program Wednesday,Aug.30. <br /> The proposed services from this new treatment program will improve access to essential health care for people in <br /> Skagit County who are dependent on opioids,such as heroin and OxyContin in Skagit Count,. <br /> The proposed program,didgwalic Wellness Center,is requesting to operate at 8212 South March Point Road,in <br /> Anacortes.The treatment program includes medication(such as methadone or buprenorphine products),case <br /> management,therapeutic treatment services,and medical oversight <br /> A SAMHSA mobile app is available about treatment for opioid use disorder and the related cost savings in health <br /> care and arrests/convictions.Also online are facts for families and friends about medication-assisted treatment, <br /> information about methadone,and information about buprenorphine products. <br /> The public hearings is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.,Wednesday August 30,2017 at the Swinomish Social <br /> Services Building located at 17337 Reservation Road in la Conner.
