A timely applieRtion was fired to amend the comprehensive plan land.use <br /> designation from 1.3 Single Family Detached to 1.6 Multiple Family and modify the zoning ftnin <br /> Single Family Medium Density to R-3 Multiple Family Medium Density to allow.a duplex at 1609 <br /> Walnut:St.; and <br /> • WHEREAS,the Plannlig Commission held a public hearing on the matter on.December 5,2Q17 at <br /> which time the Commission heard staffs presentation,public comments,and considered the proposed <br /> comprehensive plan map amendment and rezone;and <br /> WAEREAS,the proposed anionaments were evaluated consistent with the State Environmental Policy <br /> Act and Chapter 20.04 WC. <br /> WHEREAS;notice of the proposed amendments to the comprehen5ive plan was sent to the <br /> Washington.State Depart:Merit Of ComMeice Oh November I,2017 and a leiter Of receipt WaS received <br /> on NoVeinber 2,20.17. <br /> WHEREAS,'MC PLANNING COMMISSION VINDS: <br /> 1. The prcipOse:d inati amendments are csn§istent with GMA goals(Rog 36.70A.020 that.0n=opura& <br /> development in urban areas where adequate public facilities and services exist or can be provided <br /> in an efficient nazumeri and which promote a variety of residential densities and housing types,and <br /> encourage preservation of existing"housing stock. <br /> 2.
