This project <br /> will install flashing yellow arrows at selected intersections throughout Everett so that the intersections can <br /> operate in protected-only left turn mode during periods of high volume, and permissive left turn mode during <br /> periods of lower volume. This change to signal operation is anticipated to improve safety and reduce delay at <br /> the selected intersections. At other locations the project will install Americans with Disabilities Act <br /> compliant accessible pedestrian WALK signals to improve pedestrian safety. Additionally, all locations will <br /> have retro-reflective tape installed on existing back-plates to increase the visibility of the traffic signal heads. <br /> The budget for this project is $711,300 and the sources funds are: <br /> Federal Grant(HSIP) $640,170 <br /> Fund 119—Street Improvements 71,130 <br /> Total Funds $711,300 <br /> RECOlVThIENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an Ordinance creating a Special Improvement Project entitled"Citywide Innovative Safety Project," <br /> Fund 303,Program 111,to accumulate all costs for the improvement. <br /> 51 <br />
