EVERETT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />The City will work with the School Districts to identify and construct sidewalks on at least on- <br />side of the street to achieve 100% coverage within a one -mile radius of the schools. Most of the <br />north end of the City has full sidewalk coverage, although there may be some spot improvements <br />required. Five "Safe Route Improvement Zones" have been identified in the south end of the City <br />to program these pedestrian improvement initiatives. Zones within the City limits are <br />programmed in the first and second six-year plans, with areas within the Urban Growth Area <br />boundary scheduled for the later period. <br />The potential capital costs of these Sidewalk improvements are estimated at more than $100 Million <br />over the Plan period.
