Ted Budden <br /> From: Ted Budden <br /> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2014 3:58 PM <br /> To: Cynthia Keirsey <br /> Subject: 317 Tamarack Ave <br /> Cindy, <br /> On 1/07/2014 I received a complaint about a garage that has been"converted to living space without permits"at 317 <br /> Tamarack Ave. <br /> On 1/09/2014 I visited the site to determine the veracity of the complaint. No one answered the door upon this initial <br /> visit, I was however able to make observations of the exterior of the "converted"garage from the common entrance <br /> area that indicated evidence consistent with the alleged conversion. I left an inspection report requesting the owner <br /> contact me concerning the suspected violations. <br /> Today, 1/13/2014 I visited the site at the request of the owner Mr.Jim Wheeler(425) 359- 1952 to further investigate <br /> the suspected code violations. <br /> Mr.Wheeler was very co-operative. He allowed interior access of the suspect area to view and photograph the <br /> building. <br /> Here are my findings. <br /> 1.The prior garage has been converted for use as dwelling space.This area includes a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and <br /> living room. <br /> 2. My research of the records for this property failed to locate any permits for the alterations from garage to living <br /> space. <br /> 3.This building is an Unlawful Structure as defined by IPMC section 108.1.4 for the alterations and occupancy of the <br /> building without approvals and contrary to law. <br /> I informed Mr. Wheeler of my findings in person and I left an inspection report with him declaring the violation and <br /> Unlawful Status. <br /> The building is currently vacant and should remain so until approved for occupancy by this office. <br /> Please initiate enforcement action as your schedule allows.
