Ea Site Plan(s) m Density Test Summary Signature: .u-_ �✓s Attachments: ElOther Reviewed By: , X ❑ Installation Records PURPOSE of VISIT: GeoDesign representative, Benjamin Weinberg,was on-site part time at the request of John Feltner with Polygon to observe the foundation subgrade from Lots 123 and 124. SUMMARY of OBSERVATIONS: Lot 124: Upon arrival, GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation subcontractor had over-excavated the previously identified area on the west side of Lot 124 approximately 18 inches down to material which could be probed less than 2 to 3 inches using a 1/2 inch diameter soil probe. GeoDesign notified the client that the exposed over-excavated area is suitable for placement of the permeable ballast backfill material. Lot 123: GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation sub-contractor had completed digging the foundation and crawl space area for Lot 123. GeoDesign noted that the excavation was filled with approximately 3 Inches of water from rain. GeoDesign roughly checked the submerged foundation subgrade material using a 1/2 inch diameter soil probe and noted that the west side of the lot area could be penetrated approximately 12 to 18 inches;the area was roughly delineated using two grades stakes on the north and south side of the excavation. Penetration depths encountered for the east side of the lot area were generally less than 3 to 4 inches. GeoDesign notified the contractor that the west side of the lot area would require over-excavation and that the foundation subgrade cannot be evaluated until the excavation had been dewatered. A summary of our observations can be found in the attached Figure 1. The client was notified of our observations via email after our departure from the site. This report presents opinions formed as a result of our observation of activities relating to geotechnical engineering or environmental services.We rely on the contractor to comply with the plans and specifications throughout the duration of the project Irrespective of the presence of our representative.Our work does not Include supervision or direction of the contractor,the contractor's employees or agents.
