The 2 feet of quarry spoils were placed and tamped Into
place using the bucket of an excavator. The 2 Inch railroad ballast material was placed and spread using an excavator and
compacted into a firm and unyielding mass using a smooth drum vibratory roller.
It Is the opinion of GeoDesign that the foundation subgrade area for Lot 224 observed today is currently suitable for support
of the Intended structure.
Lot 225:
Previously, GeoDesign noted that DDS had over-excavated and stabilized the Lot 225 area in accordance with our
recommendations, Today,GeoDesign noted that DDS had backfilled the Lot 225 area with approximately 2-3 feet of 2 inch
railroad ballast material. The 2-3 feet of 2 inch railroad ballast material was placed in lifts and tamped into place using the
bucket of an excavator. The exposed material at the plan bottom of footing was compacted into a firm and unyielding mass
using a smooth drum vibratory roller.
It is the opinion of GeoDesign that the foundation subgrade area for Lot 225 observed today is currently suitable for support
of the intended structure.
The contractor was notified of our observations prior to our departure from the site.
A summary of our observations and density tests can be found in the attached Figure 1.
This report presents opinions formed ata result of our observation of acth hies relating to geacthnieat engineering or en vronmental services,,We rely on the contractor to comply with the plans and
specifications throughout the duration_of the pro cct irrespective of the presence amour representative.Ourwork does not include supervision or direction of the contractor, the contractor's employees
or tsOur gmrIs
not responsible(oak safety,This field report is*DRAFT representation of our field observations, testings and preliminary recommendations. The report can only be koneidered
iinmpon*View atilt ceottesign project manager,as indicated by Initials in the'Reviewed Pe soden,
10700 Meridian Avenue North,Suite 402 I Seattle,WA 98133 1206.838.9900
2502 Jefferson Avenue I Tacoma,WA 98402 1253.203.0095
